‘A beginning is a very delicate time.’

This blog post represents the start of what will most certainly be an exciting journey. While clicking “Publish” only took a single click, the action marked the end of one phase of my life and the beginning of a new and exciting phase.

Starting this month, I am participating in Ireland’s premier startup accelerator, NDRC’s Launchpad. Over the next 12 weeks, I will be building and refining Akita, a new kind of sales tool that will empower salespeople to form stronger relationships with customers and drive more sales. In the past I have had full-time jobs, hacked on side projects, and successfully launched products but I’ve never successfully started a business. This month, that all changes.

Over the next few months I’ll be speaking with customers to decide exactly how best Akita can solve the problems that their sales teams are facing. I will be assembling a team capable of building a first-class business. I will be leading the development of an enterprise-grade application that will delight users. It’s equal parts exciting and terrifying.

Keep an eye on this blog. I’ll be documenting my journey as a first-time founder, discussing how we operate as a business, explaining how we build products that people want, and giving my two cents on things I might or might not be qualified to discuss.

If you are looking to improve your sales process please sign up for Akita. We will be launching a product in the coming months and would love your input.
